Pet Birthstones by Month – April. Diamond is the birthstone for all pets born in April. Diamonds are the hardest of all the gems, in fact of all natural minerals. It’s name comes from the Greek ‘adamas’ which means invincible. Because it is such a hard material it is often used industrial processes and drills. Diamonds are measured in carats which is the weight of the stone, a carat is equal to 200milligrams. It doesn’t always just mean it’s size as some larger diamonds get their weight from a ‘bad cut’ which can be hidden in the setting of a ring. Diamonds are also measured for their clarity, their colour and their cut.

April Birthstone Meanings
It is the gem colour for all Ariens. This is for pets born between March 21st – April 20th. Diamonds are not only a girl’s best fiend but have a host of meanings, not least ‘I love you‘. Probably because they are so hard and so expensive. It is an exceptionally powerful stone, often regarded as the ‘truth’ stone. They are said to fill a negative space with the purity of love.

A diamond symbolizes deep everlasting love. And what love could be more everlasting than love of our pets. They can bring a sense of calm and inner peace which is very welcome during a period of grieving.
Birthstones and losing a pet.
Hindus believe that diamonds strengthen the organs in our bodies especially the heart, and it is our hearts that struggle so much when we lose our pets. Buddhists believe that the diamond is a symbol of pure insight. And don’t our pet’s have that same power? I know that they come and cuddle up to me when I’m in need of support and always seem to know exactly what I need.
