How It Works

Option 1: A Specific Image or Place

If you have a specific photograph, image, or location in mind, Lanson can work directly from this reference. The process is simple:

1. Send the Image – Provide the photograph or reference image you would like transformed into art.
2. Confirm the Size & Ash Placement – Choose the dimensions for your artwork and discuss where you’d like the ashes incorporated.
3. Receive a Quote – You will be provided with a detailed quotation.
4. Send the Ashes – Once agreed, you send a small portion of ashes to be incorporated into the painting using Lanson’s specialist sealing process.
5. Artwork Creation – Your bespoke painting will be completed within 2-6 weeks, depending on size and complexity. You will be kept informed throughout and can request changes before the ashes are added.

Option 2: A Bespoke & Abstract Tribute

For those seeking a more symbolic representation, Lanson offers fully bespoke and abstract commissions designed to embody the personality and essence of your pet. This process includes:

1. Exploration Form – A detailed questionnaire allows you to reflect on special memories, locations, and characteristics that defined your pet.
2. Consultation – Lanson will discuss your responses to translate them into visual ideas.
3. Sample Creation – A selection of artistic samples will be provided in a brochure for you to choose from.
4. Artwork Creation – Once the direction is confirmed, the painting begins. This process typically takes 3-6 weeks, depending on size and detail.
5. Final Approval – Before the ashes are incorporated, you will have the opportunity to request adjustments, ensuring you are completely happy with the final piece.

How Much Ash Can Be Incorporated?

Typically, around one teaspoon of ashes is enough for most paintings. However, if you’d like a more prominent presence of ashes, up to five teaspoons can be used. Any unused ashes will be respectfully returned. It is also possible to combine ashes from multiple pets.

The cost depends on the size and complexity of the painting. Below is a general pricing guide:

• Medium (A1) – From £700 (£120 extra for samples & brochure)
