What are the birthstone colours by month?
Birthstones by Month. If you know the month of your beloved pet’s birth then you might like to choose to put their ashes into an appropriately coloured stone. It can make this difficult choice easier for some people.
Choosing a colour for your memorial jewellery can be both a difficult and lovely thing, if you have a favourite colour then the choice is simple but many people choose a colour based on the month of their pets birthday, their birthstone or star sign.
Here is the list of birthstones by month that might be helpful for you:
What is the birthstone for January?
Garnet, although garnets can come in a wide range of colours it is traditionally a red colour. Not only is it a perfect choice for all pets born in the month of January but – if you know the exact date of your pet’s birth – it is also the colour for all Capricorns i.e. those born between 22nd December to 20th January. Good for Red Setters too!
What is the birthstone for February?
Amethyst, this is a beautiful purple colour, the colour of Kings. It is also the colour for Aquarius i.e. January 21st to 19th February.
What is the birthstone for March?
Aquamarine, a gorgeous blue and of course the colour of Pieces the water sign. Pets born between 2oth February to 20th March. My beautiful cat April had aquamarine eyes so I have a soft spot for this stone.
What is the birthstone for April?
Diamond, a girl’s best friend! It’s not a cheap option but you can turn your pet ashes into diamonds which means you can have them faceted which works really well with more traditional jewellery items. Our clear ashes stone is the closest to this and we can add lots of glitter to give it that special sparkle. April was named April by my oldest son as he shares the same Aries star sign month!
What is the birthstone for May?
Emerald, a fabulous green and the gem of Venus. We now have two beautiful black cats called Pumpkin & Midnight (no prizes for guessing when they arrived in our house!). It’s easy to tell them apart as Pumpkin has orange eyes (honestly I’m not joking), and Midnight has stunning green emerald eyes. Emerald is also the colour for Taurus, a wonderful earth star sign.
What is the birthstone for June?
Pearl, a classically English colour, simple and elegant. Mercury the winged messenger’s is the ruling planet for pets born between 21st May and 21st June. Gemini is an air sign which has always confused me. Pearl is a subtle and understated colour choice but it goes with anything and will never clash with whatever you are wearing. You can see it on our Starry Night pendant.
What is the birthstone for July?
Ruby, a deep red colour. This is a brighter colour than the Garnet and is very vibrant. You can see it on our Moon & Stars Pendant. You can add sparkle but it makes a great statement on it’s own. This is the colour for Cancer i.e. pets born between 22nd June and 22nd July.
What is the birthstone for August?
Peridot, a beautiful light green you can see it on our Wedding Bands. As with any of our birthstone range you can add sparkle or keep it pure, it is your choice. The star sign is Leo so for all pets born between July 23rd and August 23rd. It’s another popular choice as it reminds many people of their dog or cat’s eyes.
What is the birthstone for September?
Sapphire, a dark blue. This is my personal favourite although I’m not a Virgo – August 24th to September 23rd. Our Starry Night pendant in blue is made in Sapphire and I absolutely love it. I know I’m biased but it just makes me think of the sky at night when all the stars are twinkling, makes you remember to live for the moment.
What is the birthstone for October?
Tourmaline. The stone of all animals born between September 24th and October 23rd. The star sign is the air sign Libra with the ruling planet of Venus. Our tourmaline is a really pretty pink, you can see used in our Missing You Pendant.
What is the birthstone for November?
Topaz, a dusky orange. The gem colour for all Scorpios. Pets born between October 24th to November 22nd. This is definitely the colour of our cat Pumpkin’s eyes. It’s a stunning amber colour and reminds me of autumn walks, strolling through the multi-coloured leaves, gorgeous.
What is the birthstone for December?
Turquoise, a light blue stone. The star sign Sagittarius for all pets born between November 23rd and December 21st. Despite it’s water-like qualities in the gem stone colour it’s a fire sign with the fiery ruling planet of Saturn.
